The EDH Battle Royale VI: The Main Event’s Grand Finale!

With the dawn of the new year, we resumed the sixth annual EDH Battle Royale! Spells have been furiously cast, battlefields destroyed, many creatures and monsters clashed, and we have had several upset wins thus far.

We had three brackets with four decks each (giving us twelve playoff matches total), vying for a title shot at our reigning champ from last year. Currently, we know three of the four finalists.

Today, we will witness two massive matches: first, a playoff match between the two generals who fought to a tie in Block A, Wort, the Raidmother vs. Nekusar, the Mindrazer, and then, in our main event, we will see a huge showdown between the three winners of each Block and last year’s champ, Isperia the Inscrutable!

Who will emerge triumphant from the final bracket? Can Isperia be the first champion to ever successfully defend her EDH Battle Royale title?

It’s time for our final matches of The EDH Battle Royale VI!

Single Card Discussion: Cultural Exchange

Hello and welcome back to the Single Card Discussion series! After my pieces on Pure // Simple and Bloodforged Battle-Axe, it’s time to take a look at yet another multiplayer gem that I feel has been sadly overlooked.

Today’s card is one that I’ve thought was useful in multiplayer since it was first spoiled years and years ago, and though it does see play, I’m shocked that more players haven’t looked at it for EDH. Today’s card is the classic Odyssey card, Cultural Exchange!

Let’s take a deeper look at this unusual card!

Rivals of Ixalan in EDH

Last year was a pretty good time to be playing EDH. Lots of new cards have been released that are specifically tailored for our format, from giant monsters, to big silly spells, and everything in between.

Now, the Ixalan expansion set, Rivals of Ixalan, was released last month, and everyone has had a chance to add the cards to their EDH decks.

It has taken me a month to work out what I wanted to say about this set. Do I think Rivals continues Wizards’ strong run of good multiplayer sets?

Let’s take a look!

Planeswalking in Shandalar II: Day 1, Restarting on Hard Mode

Talrand, Sky Summoner

It has been a long, long time since I last went planeswalking in Shandalar.

The excitement of ante games, the thrill of defeating dungeons and wizard bosses, the fun of casting the utterly broken Contract from Below… all these things exist in the old Shandalar computer game, and I have missed them all.

And now, years after my last saved game was lost, it is finally time for me to begin another playthrough. Let’s go!
