The EDH Battle Royale III: Match 1

warp_world

The decks were all built. Generals were all chosen. Forces had been marshalled, Wrath effects were readied, and our players were all ready to draw some extra cards. A whopping 8100 cards had been sleeved, and 81 mighty EDH decks were ready to battle to the death, until only one victor would stand alone amidst the ashes of the fallen.

It was time to fight for glory. For recognition and fame. But most of all, it was time to fight… because we could. It was time for our third annual Commander tournament… it was time for The EDH Battle Royale III!

Our first match this year would be:

Match 1: Bosh, Iron Golem vs. Ixidor, Reality Sculptor vs. Krenko, Mob Boss

Round one, FIGHT!

A Crazy Weekend

What an exhausting weekend.

This past weekend, Halifax played host to our local convention, Hal-Con, where all sorts of nerdery and gaming was on display. We had cosplayers of all ages come out to show their stuff, lots of tabletop and video gaming, and lots and lots of stuff to buy, all in one rather cramped building.

It was a hell of a time.

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch: Introduction

rakdos_lord_of_riots

Two years ago, for Christmas, I’d built several EDH decks to give away to various friends and family. I’d created an Isperia deck for my friend Darby, to force him outside of his comfort zone; then, I’d created a budget Mayael list for my baby brother Joel; next, I’d given away a budget version of Kaalia of the Vast to our friend Brianna; and finally, I’d given my girlfriend Angela a five-color planeswalker deck, Progenitus.

Last year, I ran out of time to build anything for people, and gave away generic Xmas gifts. I thought at the time that this was kind of sad, since creating an EDH deck like this for a friend was an excellent way to give someone a personalized gift, and was always fun for me to do.

This year, one of my major gameplans was to once again build several Christmas EDH decks, that I could give away to friends and family. Today, we’ll be going over the first of these decks: Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch! Let’s jump right in and see what I put together for one of my friends this year!
