The BOO Draft II: Jay’s set — Zelda OOT, Part Two

Back in May, I posted about a Challenge format that I was preparing to run, based off of an old Noah Weil article on starcitygames.com about a “BOO Draft.” A BOO Draft, otherwise known as a “Build Our Own” Draft, is a format where you get 8 creative people together and have them create 45 Magic cards (or three packs’ worth) each, and then do a booster draft with the results. We had set up the first BOO Draft in May, ran the draft over the summer, and found the format to be immensely fun.

And now, it is time to do it all again. It is time for… The BOO Draft II: The Obligatory Sequel!

An Archenemy EDH Event: “The Ridiculous Challenge”

progenitus_edh

I’ve written before about the possibility of including the various Magic Challenge decks into Commander games, with the idea being to give an EDH Archenemy additional potent weapons to work with to fight off other EDH decks. I’d written about adding a Hydra to an Archenemy game, but since then, Wizards has also added a Horde deck (tribal Minotaurs), Defeat a God (Xenagos as a God), and Garruk as the planeswalker-killer from M15.

So, what would happen if I threw all of those into an EDH Archenemy game? Well, this past Thursday, I did just that, and it was a wild and woolly matchup. Here’s a quick look at just how it went down.

Hidden Gems #15: Multicolor card drawing spells, Part Three

Welcome once again to another edition of EDH Hidden Gems! Today, I thought I’d take a quick look at a subject that I bring up a lot with newer players who are getting into EDH — card drawing. Drawing extra cards is a good thing, especially in multiplayer, where every extra resource is a good thing. Today, we’ll be looking at the multicolored options for card drawing spells.

Brace yourself, there’s an awful lot of them! Let’s jump right in, and see what we have to work with, shall we?
